How high should a window well sit above the ground?

The rim should sit a few inches above the finished grade so surface runoff flows around the well, not into it. Landscaping that buries the rim is one of the most common flooding setups we see.

Can you extend my well for a new egress window?

Yes. We extend depth to match the planned window and code requirements, including the ladder if the finished depth exceeds 44 inches.

Is an extension as strong as a new well?

Properly joined and anchored, yes for most situations. If your existing well is rusted or deformed, we will recommend replacement instead of extending a failing structure.

My landscaper buried my window wells. Now what?
